I refer to last Sunday’s article ‘Don’t shun flats in newer estates’.
I live in Punggol. I feel that Singapore is so small that it may not make sense to spend so much money to buy a property in a mature estate so that you are 10 minutes from the city.
What is important is affordability.
Moreover, it is more congested in the mature estates and there may be fewer open spaces. Punggol has more such spaces, where you could fly a remote aeroplane or a kite. It is very unlikely you can do that in a mature estate.
Some may not realise it, but to get from Punggol Central to Plaza Singapura in Orchard Road by car, it takes about only 15 minutes via the Kallang-Paya Lebar Expressway.
